Corpus Christi College is one of the ancient colleges of the University of Cambridge. Founded in 1352 by the Guilds of Corpus Christi and the Blessed Virgin Mary, it bears the distinction of being the only College in Oxford or Cambridge founded by their citizens.
The Parker Library, named after Archbishop Matthew Parker (1504-1575), former master of the College, is a treasure house of Medieval and Renaissance manuscripts and early printed books. The purpose of the project was the relocation of the Parker Library, works including:

  • Temperature controlled fireproof vaults
  • Bespoke joinery furniture & bookcases
  • Forming new office, toilet and lobby areas
  • M&E Services including A/C works, fire suppression, security and fire alarms
The challenge to the team was to successfully deliver the project with no disruption to the College or their neighbours within the confines of a restricted area. This was achieved in a reduced programme period despite encountering unexpected ground conditions and incorporating additional areas of work.
