Killby & Gayford have been supporting Apprentices for over 150 years.  Our Joinery factory in Billericay, Essex caters for our Carpentry and Joinery Apprentices.  We take on 2-6 young people every year and our apprenticeship scheme is sponsored by ConstructionSkills with the aim of encouraging young people to develop construction skills as bench joiners to NVQ Level 3.

During their 3 year apprenticeship, our Apprentices are provided with mentoring and practical training by a Master Joiner.  Candidates must also attend the Building Crafts College on a block release basis in order to obtain their City & Guilds apprenticeship.

Killby & Gayford have an excellent record of achievement in the National Joiners & Ceilers Awards held annually by the Worshipful Company of Joiners & Ceilers.  Our Apprentices also frequently win ‘Apprentice of the Year’ at college – something that we’re also very proud of.
